Back in June, not many would have thought that Ruiz would have dropped Anthony Joshua. Not to mention four times to win by seventh-round TKO!
Yet, that’s exactly what he did. His bark was not worse than his bite in this case!
Underdog Ruiz became the new unified world heavyweight champion. And now, more than six months later, Ruiz is set to defend his IBF, WBA, and WBO titles against Joshua.
The two fighters, Joshua and Ruiz, will meet in Saudi Arabia on 7th December. Joshua will be aiming to snatch back his crown and redeem himself as arguably the top heavyweight in boxing. On the other side Ruiz will be looking to prove to the world that he is a force to be reckoned with.
Fitness has been an early headline entering this bout, as the two have slimmed down in an attempt to deliver a faster pace and be better conditioned for later rounds if it comes to it.
Will Ruiz be able to defend his titles?
Will Joshua produce a career-defining performance and become a two-time world unified heavyweight champ?
